Last night’s trail run was just what I needed. To be immersed in nature, with no regard to time or pace. I did an easy 3.5 miles in the Arbor Hills nature trail with my buddies from Luke’s Locker.
It was fun navigating through the sticks and rocks! There are certain guidelines to remember while trail running and I tried to be good and follow them all. I didn’t trip and fall which is always a good thing! Need to get out to the off beaten path more often.
So let’s talk about what my favorites are lately…
I think tabata workouts are a great way to get your heart pumping and build strength! It’s high intensity non-stop movement which I love. Plus they are a great compliment to running and you can do them virtually ANYWHERE. I have been finding some tabata workouts on Pinterest and I think I will be incorporating them more into my running and workout routines. Like this one…
I am a fan of any workout you can do in your living room and work up a good sweat. I did Jen’s 5, 10, 15, 20 workout the other day and in 15 minutes ended up straight glistenin’…mission accomplished.
I am in love with this shade. It’s such a great hot color for the summertime! I think it would look great on a mani-pedi.
Froyo with rainbow sprinkles
I cannot get enough of rainbow sprinkles lately. I truly do not know what has gotten into me and my obsession. I could eat froyo every day of the year and never get tired of it. It’s the ultimate comfort food!
Inov-8 Flite 195s
I have really been into the minimalist style of running shoes lately. I definitely think it is something that you have to EASE yourself into and build strength in your legs and feet. I think natural running is the ideal way to run, and the Inov8s are a great example of that! They make a GREAT racing flat, and I have rocked them on the trails as well! They are also ideal if you are into Crossfit workouts or for weight lifting. I wore them to the gym the other day and pumped some iron. They are such versatile shoes and come in hot colors! I love the red ones.

This weekend I am in for 10 miles with my running group followed by doing absolutely nothing but laying by the pool ALL WEEKEND! Should be some fun in the sun!
