Sloshy Snow Run, Quinoa and Fun Links.

This morning’s 6 mile run…more like ice skating through the sloshy snow. It’s all good in the hood though, got it done.
Texas weather can’t make up its mind…I swear was I not just telling you a few days ago it was 70 degrees? Haha.
After the run I got ready for work and packed up this yumminess for lunch. Made some quinoa last night with sauteed kale, andouille chicken sausage and goat cheese with red pepper on top. I haven’t made quinoa in a while but I had a big bag of it in my cabinet that was begging to be used.

I am going to try and be good in efforts to save money and bring my lunch in to work the rest of the week. We will see how that goes.
A few fun links for you…love this girl’s metaphor for marathons.
Also, ain’t nobody got time for most of these things.
If you are needing a good laugh, check this out. Nothing like an animated spin instructor. I have probably mumbled a few of these phrases…cracking me up.
Have you ever run in rain, sleet, snow? Any quinoa recipes I should try?

  1. OMG I cannot, cannot, stop laughing. bahaha!! I’m friggin happy as a clam on this bike.

I trained for an ATL marathon 2 years ago in snow, I was scared I would bust it all the time.

  2. Great run, girl. And yes, you folks get weird weather. So extreme if you ask me.

I actually don’t mind running in the rain/snow. Sleet, I can do without. I prefer running in the rain before it starts to come down hard — and as for snow, I’d rather run while it’s snowing then running after it’s snowed. I hate black ice. I’m already clumsy without that stuff. 🙂

  3. Oof, kudos to you for sticking with that run. Hopefully your feet have warmed up by now. 🙂 Also, your lunch looks like it was delicious and highly nutritious. You’re reminding me that I need to eat more kale. Have a great day!

  4. haha- loved the video! Good job on the run this morning! I actually run in ridiculous weather all the time. In NYC I ran in cold, rain, snow/ice…now in Denver I am running in the snow on crazy trails in freezing temps 🙂 good times.
