Back in the Saddle and What’s Next.

My morning started bright and early with a little bit of active recovery teaching my 5:45 am spin class. I took Monday off from teaching after the marathon so I was eager to get back in the saddle.

Threw some new tracks on there and some remixes…added some resistance onto this mashup.
I have one more class to teach tonight at the Bedford Plaza gym. I like to call them my happy hour class. Join me at 6 pm if you are in the area. And if not, we’ll just have to do a skype class one day. You are all invited.
I haven’t run at all in the past couple of days but I may try and go out for a little shakeout run to watch the sunrise tomorrow morning. Then, I will run this weekend with my Luke’s crew. I miss these crazy kids already.

Some of you may be wondering, what’s next after the marathon? Well I have a few things up my sleeves and other things I’m still juggling around. What’s for sure on tap for April includes a couple of 5Ks, including this one, just for fun.
And my favorite speed session of the season, the Central Market Thrill of the Grill 5K. Super flat, fast course followed by a delicious breakfast at one of my favorite places to shop.
Then I will probably toss in some spring half marathons…including the opportunity to pace this inaugural 13.1 right in my own backyard. Should be fun!

And this fall I will do a girl’s trip up to Pennsylvania to run 26.2 along Lake Erie. Super excited about that one! I am loving all the reviews on this site, plus I just love small races so it’s so up my alley.

So that’s my tentative plan. Along with teaching lots of spin classes of course! And thanks to a little inspiration from this girl I will be adding yoga back into the mix along with some strength training sessions. Strong and fit is the name of the game!
Do you have any fun spring/fall races planned? What’s your favorite workout song right now?
What is your favorite race distance?
I have mad love for the half marathon…with the 26.2 in close second.

  1. Half marathon’s are so perfect — about the time I’m sick of it, I’m done! But I have mad love for 26.2, and if its a small race, the love is intensified!!! My marathon in June had 110 competitors last year — hoping its roughly the same this year!!

I’m intrigued with your “skype class” — 🙂

As usual, your plans sound exciting and oh so upbeat! That’s why I come here. . . to feed off of your positivity!! 🙂 Have an awesome day!

  2. You are on your feet already? Gosh, do you have some superpowers?
And if i could only get Robbie Williams’ Candy out of my head – I’d be fine. Working out or not 😀

  3. Looks like a good schedule ahead. I am doing a short (7K) for St. pat’s day, a 5k in boulder in May, and I am planning on the leadville heavy 1/2 in late june. That’s it for right now, but hoping to add in more once the weather is too warm for snowboarding 🙂

  4. Girlfriend! Can’t keep up with you!
I love that you do destination races. I would love to do the Chicago Marathon one day, a bucket list race for sure. Would love to make a whole trip out of it.
As always, love following along your wild, speedy ride!

  5. I love how you continue to keep up with running. I know marathon training is hard and you aren’t missing a beat – no pun intended:)

Dying to do a color run!! And as always, digging the music. Mash-ups are my fave thing to spin to. I bet your class is the best!

  6. Look at you, already registered for another 26.2. Like a boss. You’ve got me thinking what’ next after Boston this April, and well, other than a half in Aug, I’ve got nothin’. Hmm. Wanna come to CO for a race?? 🙂

  7. Every single time I see your playlist, there’s always ONE song that I start singing the rest of the afternoon. HAHA

I wish I were in the area. I would totally come in to your spin class.

Loving the upcoming race schedule. I’m supposed to run the Cherry Blossom 10, but I don’t know if I”ll be able to make it now. I am running the Brooklyn Half Marathon on May 18th. I think it sold out this year in record time — registration opened at noon and it was sold out by 7:20pm that night. It’s supposed to be one of the NYRR favorites, so I’m looking forward to it.

I need to get a half in — last time I did one was — gulp — 2011.

    • Oh wow the Brooklyn Half sounds great! That is crazy that it was sold out that fast! I would LOVE to run the cherry blossom one- except I would probably be stopping to take so many pics not sure I would do it for time lol. You are going to do great in the half!!
