Running, TGIFriday Faves, Weekend

TGIFriday Faves.

Hello Friday! Nice to see you again. I greeted the sunrise this morning with a 7 mile run.
Turned on MapMyRun just for fun. Comes in handy.

I have to say that even though the weather has been playing with my emotions lately I am kind of digging the cooler weather in the mornings. This morning’s run was a chilly 40 degrees. I know it’s not going to stick around long so I will have to just enjoy it while it lasts and sip on hot coffee to stay warm.
I rocked it out in these new hot pink Asics I got from my dad for my birthday. Not sure how I feel about these yet, still breaking ’em in. We will see if they make the cut.
Sure do love that color though.
On to my faves this week…
This girl’s post…just read it, you will be inspired. She is an awesome ultrarunner and I am loving her blog lately.
Two boxes…keep filling up the gold one.
-Mint shorts? I need to find these. Great color for spring and summer.
-Bellini scented candles from Bath and Body works. Loving all the smells of the season. Reminds me of being out on the patio for brunch on a lovely Saturday afternoon.
-Mango kombucha. Can’t get enough of these drinks. Plus I am just loving mangos right now.
-The runner’s high. Yes, it’s my favorite pretty much all the time so it should probably stay on this list.
What’s on tap for your CINCO DE MAYO weekend? Ever tried kombucha?
What’s your favorite fruit?
That would have to be a tie between bananas and strawberries.

  1. I tried kombucha about a zillion years ago before I was into a healthy lifestyle, and I thought it tasted sour and gross I haven’t given it a chance since. But I’m sure there are much better brands out there than the one I tried. Maybe I’ll venture out of my drinking comfort zone 🙂

  2. Loving the picture of the sunset! Mango kombucha sounds good. I’ve never tried kombucha before but wouldn’t mind giving it a shot.

  3. Awesome splits, girlie! Wish my legs were as fast as yours. Those mint shorts are amazing. I am loving anything mint colored lately…we got in some shoes at work that are mint colored (the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 15s, I think) and I’m really trying not to buy them. It’s tough, mentally. 🙂 This weekend, I’m working and heading to my fiance’s cousin’s wedding on Saturday night. I totally plan on indulging in some Mexican food on Sunday, and hopefully a post-work margarita. Hope you have a great weekend!

  4. Peach Bellini? That must be one good scented candle. I can’t wait for watermelon season. There’s nothing like a sweet watermelon. Is there a watermelon Kombucha?

  5. Last week’s 6-mile run I ran at a 9’16″ pace. I just felt off the entire time and wasn’t enjoying it but for me, that was a good pace. The trail was boring, etc. This weekend, the weather was perfect, and I somehow didn’t psych myself up for the run. I had good runs all week, so that was encouraging. Having my husband with me on the weekends is always motivating and he helps push and pace me. With a few stoplight stops and dodging the masses of tourists looking up at all the monuments we ran 8 miles at an 8’57″ pace. Honestly, I couldn’t believe it. I felt great the entire time and felt like I could have kept going. The entire run just felt good. I was shocked and happy at the same time.
