Bump it Up and What’s Beautiful.

This morning I was up at the lovely hour of 5:45 am for a Bodypump blast. I decided to bust out the gun show this morning and bump it up on the weights. Followed it up with an 3 mile easy run on the Star Trac.
During BP we did a burst of plyometric cardio during the lunge track called straddle jumps. Have you ever done these? They really pump up your heart rate. I am always a little intimidated doing these but feels good when it’s done!
After the workout I came home and made a huge salad for lunch. Spinach, maters, lots of feta and a boiled egg on the side for some protein. I am always craving lots of protein after getting my lift on!
In other news, I wanted to tell you about a sponsored campaign that I’m pretty pumped to be a part of. It’s all about empowering women to reach their goals and push their limits in health and fitness. It’s truly something I am passionate about! I know you guys are just as passionate.
Here are the deets-

The description:

Declare a goal. Then show us how it’s done.

Together we’re redefining the female athlete by setting epic goals and pushing past where we’ve ever been and where we thought we could go. Join us. Set your own personal goal. Then document your journey by posting videos and photos that tell your story from start to victory.

We’ll continuously post challenges for you. But that’s just the beginning. Show us your journey. Show us what makes your story the one that stands out from the rest. If you meet your goal, set a new one. Make it even bigger. Prove to everyone, and  yourself, that you have more than what it takes.

The Competition.

Every week we’ll give away Under Armour Swag Bags full of gear to women who are seriously getting it. We’ll also feature profiles on our home page and in the “Top Performers” section of women who are really setting an example for all of us.

After 8 weeks, we’ll announce the 10 finalists who’ve documented the most impressive, motivated, monumental stories.

Winners will be announced mid-July.

The Prize.

Three winners will be flown to Costa Rica to attend a four-day yoga and surf retreat. In addition to the lessons led by world-class instructors, winners will be treated to transformative massages, spa treatments and healthy, locally-sourced meals prepared by personal chefs. All while staying in plush accommodations looking out at the ocean. A retreat worthy of the women who earn it.

Super cool, right? Get involved!!

**I have also created a team called FAST FRIENDS** and I would love for you to join my team so we can challenge and encourage each other! If you would like to join my crew, click here. You also don’t have to be a blogger to join…it’s open to anyone!
Let’s GET AFTER IT and conquer new heights in health and fitness!

  1. I’ve never tried straddle jumps. They sound intimidating. I LOVE feta cheese on my salad. One song that always gets me pumped to workout is the Superman theme song. Lol.

  2. I think I may join ya on this one…I have a seriously huge goal (Leadville race) I am trying to conquer, so this could be perfect!
Also, there is no way I could pick one favorite salad topping- the more the better!

  3. My favorite workout song — more like getting up the hill or finishing up the last mile of a race song — is Eminem’s Lose Yourself. It never gets old.

Never tried a straddle jump (or maybe I have but never realized it) — but in general, plyo is crazy hard. 🙂

  4. The “What’s Beautiful” program sounds really awesome! It kind of a bummer that the competition only lasts for 8 weeks; to get some major goals in, it takes a lot more training than 8 weeks. Good luck to you! I will definitely be supporting you. A surf and yoga retreat in Costa Rica sounds like my idea of an amazing time.

    • I see it more as just a way we can support and encourage one another more in general more so than a hard 8 week goal…and if you want to go beyond the 8 week mark feel free! I will be doing that! 🙂 My goals are lifelong really. Hopefully you can be a part!

  5. So what is your goal?! You are already a superwoman so I can’t wait to hear it.
My playlist lately? Old school hip hop. Not sure why, but they’re working for me. 🙂
