Burn Some Rubber.

Happy Friday Eve!
This morning I was scheduled to run with some of my breakfast club buds but I woke up to thunder and lightning. No bueno! I knew I needed to take it inside so I decided to burn some rubber on the treadmill. It has been a minute since I’ve been on the hamster wheel but I decided today would be the day. 6 miles while watching an old episode of Sex and the City on E.
It was actually nice to get off of the pavement today and change things up since I’m mostly an outdoor runner. I do love my apartment gym because of the cable tvs at every treadmill so I can catch up with all of my favorite shows. I washed it all down with some yoga stretching and a few sets of planks and pushups.
Oh and this song had me flying on that treadmill. I always feel hardcore when I listen to it. Perhaps it’s time to put it on the spin playlist.
Turn up! I woke up in a new Bugatti…
Tonight I’m teaching my last class for the week, tomorrow is a REST DAY, then Saturday I’ll be long running it!
Have a great day!
What songs do you listen to that makes your run FLY by?
What day is your rest day?
What’s your favorite strength training move?
For some reason I’m into planking it lately.

  1. I WOKE UP IN A NEW BUGATTI! Future had me at TURN UP! lol.
Fergalicious and Sexy Back make me gone head get bold with it! lol
Rest day is Saturday and Sundays
My favorite strength move has to be a kettlebell swing.

  2. Hooray for rest day!! I usually rest on Fridays. I feel like its a cardinal sin to exercise on Fridays. And then I try to add another rest day for good measure. I’m really into push-ups lately (obvi), and shoulder presses.

    • Yep Sundays sometimes are rest days for me – some weeks I do 2 days other weeks it’s 1. Recharging the batteries is so important. I ALWAYS look forward to kicking my feet up!!

    • haha I don’t know about the whole ‘posting on Instagram everyday’ but I’ll definitely do some planks for ya! I am feeling like I need to up my game on the core work! Thanks for the motivation!!

  3. Sounds like you had a great workout! Great job! I don’t listen to music while I workout. I’ve had to train myself to not listen to music. It’s tough, but during a triathlon, you can’t (for safety purposes). My favorite is a plank also. It’s like a competition with myself to see how long I can last.

  4. I’m into planking lately too but NOT really doing great compared to those I see on Instagram. Well, atleast I can stay more than a minute. 🙂 LOL!
Looks like you had an awesome day despite the bad weather. 🙂

  5. OH I would love to watch some SATC while running — though that was never showing at the gym I used to go to. It was Married with Children and that had me cracking up. Now and days if I run on the tread at home, Lili keeps me entertained. She’ll pass me a tiny cup of tea or she’ll motion me to keep on running. Running at home allows me to get my run in and still spend some good quality time with the butterball.

So funny. I was just thinking of “rest” days. They’re whenever I wake up and say, “hey, sleep in!” Might be tomorrow, might be two days in a row. I guess it’s the whole being pregnant and not having a training schedule or races on tap. 😦
