Time for an Upgrade.

Morning workout – Easy 4 miler around the block. Used the MapMyRun app.

So last night my watch froze on the activity screen…even when I tried to charge it…it wouldn’t move. I think my boo, Garmin is on its way to the grave. R.I.P. Forerunner 405. High time to replace you after 4 years. We have been through some good times, haven’t we?

Sure have. Oh, those were the days.
Time for an upgrade. I have my eyes set on this pretty in pink Forerunner 10.
She would go perfectly with the Newtons, yes? I thought so.
Tonight I’m teaching a spin class and then going home to pass out on my couch. It has already been a crazy week.
Doing this playlist tonight. My favorite song right now…speedy intervals to this track. Gets me so fired up!
A little motivation for your runs this week.

Do you have a running/workout watch? Which one do you have?
I am looking for a watch/heart rate monitor for spin class too. Any recommendations? So much data, so little time.

  1. I have a Polar FT4 I love that watch. I Highly recommend it and also recommend you buy it on Amazon. The prices are a lot cheaper than in store prices.

  2. I couldn’t upload/save my runs for a week or two last month cause my Nike+ Tom Tom watch stopped being recognized by the computer. It was about 3-4 years old too. I called Nike’s trouble shooting department and they determined the USB port was no longer functioning. They sent me a brand new one free of charge! Give your people a call!

  3. My GPS/HR monitor is on it’s way out too. I really want the Garmin Forerunner 910XT, but it’s kind of pricey. Right now I have the Timex Ironman HR/GPS. It’s nice, but it’s very bulky.

  4. I don’t have a workout watch but now that I’ve started training for a half I think it’s time I get one. Would you recommend your watch? I’m guessing since you’ve stuck with garmin for the last 4 years you will say yes 😉

    • Absolutely Garmins are great! I have loved my Forerunner 405. Very reliable and tons of data. I would check Amazon or a website like that to get a deal because they get pricey. I just purchased the pink one pictured above (Forerunner 10) on ebay and it was a lot cheaper! But yes definitely a good investment and it will be your best friend if you are training for an endurance event!

  5. I use the Nike+ GPS watch…I like it, it looks really good and does what it’s supposed to…but would probably go with something more advanced next time. FWIW, I had to have my watch replaced before it was a year old and so did Michelle. I see piratebobcat had issues too. I will say that Nike are straight up though and offered replacements without any hassle.
Love your Newtons! Which ones are they and how do you like them? I wore my Newton Distance’s today…always get stares from people when I run in them, especially when I pair the orange/green/yellow shoes with my neon green Pro Compression socks 🙂
Both my Mum and my sister have the Forerunner 10 and they both like it a lot…first GPS watch for both of them and it was what I recommended.

    • They are the Newton Distance ladies shoes…I love them! Been racing in them for years. I think it was just high time to get a new watch so I am glad I just bought the pink one shortly after writing this!! A sassy girl needs a sassy new watch if ya know what I’m sayin. 😉

  6. I’ve debated about getting a watch for about 2 years now. I’m a phone strapped to my arm, Map My Run kinda gal, and I honestly don’t see that changing anytime soon. I guess I can’t see the benefit to a watch when I can carry a phone on me (for safety reason) that has an app that does exactly what a garmin does. Got any pros?

  7. OH, RIP poor Garmin. WAHHHHHH… I remember when my old Garmin died. The entire face was in the middle of the street and I was like, “WTH was that?!?” and then I look at my wrist and it’s just the band. HAHAAH. But, I had the Garmin 405 for over a year in a box — I just hate change sometimes. LOL

I hope that this one doesn’t go soon — the big problem is that Lili loves playing with it — I try to tell her not to but she gets a tude about it. HAHA

Love the pink one and it would totally go perfectly with your shoes…
