Back in the Running Saddle…Wknd Recap.

Back in the saddle…this morning I taught my Monday early bird spinners with a brand new playlist. They rocked it as usual. Lots of back to back rolling hills.

I am working on my choreography so we can put together a class like these guys. How ridiculous are these moves? Crazy town.

This weekend I was also back in the saddle with running after taking a week off. I coached my group over at Luke’s and got a few miles in with them. It was fun and much needed run therapy. Everything felt good and I wore my Asics which made my feet very happy.

Things are finally starting to cool off here in TX! Temps were in the 60s for this run so I was super stoked about that. Come on cooler weather, I hope you stay around a bit.

I have a few more races on the horizon so I will be jumping right back into running but of course weaving in my cross training. As well as doing lots more yoga and staying bendy…

Speaking of yoga, I went to 2 classes this weekend. The first one on Saturday was a restorative session with my mom over at Yoga Tree.

This class was very different from what I’m used to. We moved very slow in each pose and really got a good stretch in. It was super chill and relaxing.

Mama and I had lunch at this place next door and split these chicken nachos which were massive! But delicious.

Sunday I wanted more yoga action so I went to my favorite studio Karmany for the 11 am class. The lady that taught it is like a yoga masochist but awesome and fun at the same time. I had my rear end handed to me though. 75 minutes of a solid vinyasa flow butt kicking. I was proud of myself because I actually managed to do a headstand for the second time in my life. It’s the little successes that count, right? Next time I will have to take a picture.

I winded it down Sunday with brunch over at Frankie’s with my bestie Natalie and caught up with her…got a massage…then I caught up with this show I’m now hooked on…The Real Housewives of Vancouver…I have this Canadian girl to thank for getting me hooked. It’s only on in Canada so you have to watch it on YouTube. I know I’m losing brain cells but I can’t help but love my guilty pleasure television. Now I want to move to Canada.

  1. Loving how productive you were! I went running for the first time in a while (I was rear ended 6 weeks ago and have been on the mend)! It was very short and flat, but I was SO proud of myself. I also made chimichurri sauce (inspired by Master Chef) and it turned out really well!

  2. Ahhh I so need to start doing yoga. These hips and hamstrings are a messss. Best part of my wknd was that the weather in NYC was perfeeeect and I had a good race on Sunday morning.

  3. Grrrr. My comment disappeared. Hate when that happens. Anyway, holy nacho platter. Though I’m sure P and I could kill it especially if it were beef. Lol.

    I can’t wait to get back in the saddle,though I doubt that won’t happen until I get back to work. Oh well.

    I am loving all my fall shows that are on or coming back. Boardwalk Empire, Grey’s Anatomy and Revenge. Yay.
