Insanity, Selfies and a Jazz Date…Wknd Recap.

Back in the saddle this morning with my a.m. cycle crew. We did 55 minutes of hill repeats and sprint work. Lotsa climbing to this one. Good stuff.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend! I am just getting back into the groove after a fun time in visiting the BF and some family.
After 12 miles on Friday and a short work day I took a jet plane down to Houston. Met up with E and went to Ragin Cajun for dinner. My first request…a massive bowl of seafood gumbo. Basically something I must have when I’m down there. It was spicy and delicious.

Saturday morning we slept in til about 11 am and then did an Insanity workout. I got to try Insanity for the very first time! Of course we would do the hardest level and tried the HOUR.LONG interval session. OMG hardcore. I did not think I would be able to finish but I loved every sweaty minute of it.
Oh Shaun T…I love to hate you.
Later on we got cleaned up and took some selfies in the parking lot…
Actually we went to check out a jazz spot downtown – the Red Cat Jazz Café. Aside from the 20 dollar cover and the fact that the place was as small as a sardine can we actually had a really good time in there. The music was intoxicating and I enjoyed the atmosphere.
Sunday…more sleeping in…fabulousness…then met up with my dad and his girlfriend for our traditional brunch at Pappadeaux. I don’t think there’s such a thing as eating too much seafood. I ate tons of shrimp, smoked salmon and crawfish etouffee. Basically it was heaven.

Always enjoy getting to spend time with my awesome papa. The wonderful thing about the boyfriend living down there (even though the LDR thing has been tough) is I’ve gotten to visit with my dad more than ever. I always cherish every moment I get to spend with my sweet daddie-o.

  1. OMG you and your dad are so cute! Love that photo!

Haha I have 3 days of Thanksgiving this year. Thanksgiving day with my dad’s side of the family, Friday with my mom’s, and Saturday with my boyfriend’s family. I LOVE all the celebrating 🙂

  2. Sounds like an action packed weekend! A $20 cover?!?!? Holy moly!!! I live about 30 minutes away from my parents. It’s a good thing. Lol. Not sure what we’re doing for Thanksgiving yet. Hope you’re having a great week!
