No doubt the best way to kick off Thanksgiving week is with some glorious running. This morning it was 5 miles of crushing the leaves while attempting to stay warm in 30 degree weather.
I bet people up north would laugh at us Texans because we are definitely more acclimated to the heat and summer months than anything resembling snowy-ness or ice. There’s just something lovely to me though about running in the cold. I think it reminds me of being in college when I lived on the east coast in VA. Oh the memories.
Before the chilly-ness I busted out a 30 minute Power Up blast on my NTC app. I wanted a little bit more of a challenge so I went with the advanced level. This one was tough and I think I was sweating within about 5 minutes. Move of the day…definitely burpee to shoulder press! I would use 8-10 lb weights. I found a video demo below that actually adds on a row move too…serious business.
These types of workouts are great to do before a run…they really get your muscles warmed up and ready to hit the road!
The best way to warm up after a cold booty busting workout is definitely with a peppermint mocha. Don’t hate on my 7-Eleven gas station coffee. It’s my favorite right now especially since they give you an unlimited amount of marshmallows. Bring it on.
