Crispy Caramel Bites and a Christmas Cheer Survey.

I don’t know about you but I am definitely starting to get into the holiday spirit! Maybe it’s a little premature but I’m loving it. This morning I’m listening to Christmas music, I have my mini jingle bell tree up in the office and drinking coffee from my holiday mug. Black santa has even already made an appearance…
So I figured today I’d share a fun recipe with you and a Christmas cheer survey! First off…who doesn’t love rice krispies treats? I love them especially when they’re homemade. Not those store bought thingamajigs. These crispy caramel bites are great to have around for holiday parties. You can even add chocolate/crushed up peppermint and sprinkles if you’re feeling fancy. And they will probably be the easiest holiday treat you will make this year. Promise.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Rice Krispies cereal (or even the generic brand)
Marzetti’s Old Fashioned Light Caramel Dip
Dip the marshmallows in the caramelly goodness and roll around in the rice cereal until they’re fully coated. Put on wax paper or in tupperware and chill in the refrigerator until you’re ready to eat them!
On to the survey! I found this one from this girl’s blog. Enjoy!
Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Definitely wrapped! I truly believe Santa is all about the presentation.
Colored lights on tree/house or white?
I love me some colored lights. They’re just so much more festive than boring white ones.
Do you hang mistletoe?
No…but I’d love a mistletoe flavored candle! Candles are the new mistletoe.
What is your favorite holiday dish…excluding dessert?
I’m not big on rich holiday foods but I always love to make a healthier alternative. Right now I’m totally digging my skinny spinach dip with the greek yogurt swap. Me and mama gobbled this one up for Thanksgiving.
Favorite holiday memory as a child?
Probably leaving cookies and milk for Santa! When I was little my mom and dad had to put some of the gifts in a big playpen because I was very mischievous and would try to sneak and open them early haha. It didn’t matter if the gifts were mine or theirs. Some things never change.
Snow? Love it or dread it?
We RARELY get snow here in TX so when we do get it it’s like a Christmas miracle! We had some last year on Christmas Day and it truly was a beautiful white Christmas.
Real tree or fake tree?
Fake. I can’t even deal with the maintenance of a real one. Although they smell very lovely.
What’s the most important thing about Christmas for you?
Definitely spending that time with family and friends. This year I am going to split my time between Dallas and Houston – spending Christmas Eve with mama and then flying out late that night to spend Christmas Day with the boyfriend and dad…but I am so happy I will get to see everyone including the long distance love of my life.
What is your favorite holiday dessert?
Does holiday sangria count? Seriously I would choose wine over chocolate cake any day.
What is your favorite tradition?
It HAS to be running a fun Christmas race. Can’t wait to run in my holiday gear.

What tops your tree?
Typically I love to top my tree with ribbons…I would love to make one this year! I’m finding all sorts of ideas on pinterest.
What is your favorite Christmas song?
No one does Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer quite like Stephanie Mills. This one makes me want to dance around in Christmas pajamas.
What do you leave for Santa?
Hmm…I think I will leave him some cookies this year…or maybe those crispy caramel bites.
Do you have a Christmas morning tradition?
When the boo lived here we always got up in the morning and I made breakfast. So we’ll have to do that this year down in Houston. With mimosas, of course.
Do you prefer to shop online or at the mall?
Definitely online. Ebay has been a lifesaver lately. I just scored some hot new brown boots for under $40. They’re so cozy.
Do you say CARAMEL or CARMEL?
Pick a question (or more!) from the survey and tell me your answers!
