Pretty sure the best way to start a Monday is by teaching a spin class at 5:45 am and walking around the gym with fuzzy slippers on. Seriously I do not have any shame because I basically live there. They are used to my shenanigans in the mornings.
It was a super fun hour long session with my diehard spinners and we did sprints at the end to my girl Mariah’s song.
Hope you had a lovely weekend. I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off…literally! But had a good time and got a lot of things done.
Saturday morning I was up and at ’em for the Jog’r Egg Nog’r at White Rock Lake. The race started a little bit later (around 9 am) so it gave us plenty of time to get down there. Especially in a rainy thunderstorm. A few people were smart enough to wear ponchos.
I was kind of bummed that it stormed and was seriously considering dropping down to the 5K. My mom didn’t walk (it was coming down hard in some spots) and decided to wait it out in the warm car while I got my run on! Don’t blame her one bit. We all lined up to the start line and got ready to take off down the hill.
Windy, rainy and cold for most of the way. I even heard a couple of bouts of thunder and thought maybe they would shorten the race due to the storm but we kept it going. A lot of people looped back around the lake for the 5K and then us 15Kers went into the neighborhoods. It was a super small race (and I had a feeling a lot of SMART people dropped down to the 5K) but I decided I would just enjoy a stormy 9 miles. I had to slip and slide down a few hills (and only a couple of water stations actually had volunteers so I had to stop at each one and serve myself) but um…I finished! 2nd place in my age group. Not too shabby for navigating through a storm. With my reindeer antlers on. And they had medals this year. Pretty neat.
I wanted so badly to stay for egg nog AND to get my age group win prize (a nifty coffee mug) but it was so cold and wet and gross…so I jumped back in the car and we made our attempt to skeedaddle on outta there. Except that my car wouldn’t start and died in the middle of the road…um yeah.
What a way to end a race morning, right?!
A nice and sweet man in a pickup truck helped jump my car and then we had to take it to the dealer! My car needed a new battery and it was still under warranty so I got it replaced for free! Awesomeness.
Later on in the day I had to babysit my adorable cousins…we had a fun slumber party and watched Disney for most of the night.
This one below (3 years old) is a ball full of energy. My kinda girl. She did Crossfit jumps off of my couch…and sprints in my living room until her mom came to pick her and her sister up at 11:30 pm. Her sister went to sleep and she was up the WHOLE time. Crazy girl…but I love her to pieces.
Sunday I took a mandatory rest day and went to sushi with my mama…ahi tuna tower and edamame on deck.
How cute is mama in her leopard Santa hat?! I love it.
We rounded out the weekend with a visit to Yogurtland. Because…why not.
And…I am pleased to announce I got ALL of my gifts wrapped ladies and gentleman. It’s a Christmas miracle.
How was your weekend? What’s your favorite place to get frozen yogurt? Have you wrapped all of your Christmas gifts?
