I Need This in My Life Right Now.

This morning’s run was 4 miles on the treadmill at an 8:45 overall pace. I followed that up with some yoga and core work in my living room. We are supposed to have some sleet/freezing rain today so I figured I’d avoid the developing patches of ice and just get it done. Not to mention I slept in until about 7:30 am. Which was wonderful. I love days like this.

I ran while watching a little bit of the olympics on tv until my friend Elyse came in and ran on the treadmill next to me. It was actually so fun to run next to her. We typically try to meet up at least once during the week and do a run outside together but I guess today we had the same idea.

It’s always so funny when you’re running right next to another runner on the treadmill though because this always ends up happening…

Post run I always like to eat something within about 30 minutes so to tie me over during my commute I had a wedge of laughing cow cheese. Nice little protein boost. Highly recommend it if you have next to no time to grab food after a run. I always just eat them straight out of the package. Then I eat my real breakfast at my desk while I’m checking emails. With coffee of course.

Speaking of coffee…I saw this shirt on pinterest. I need this in my life right now.

Worker bees…how long does it take you to commute to work?
Me, about 15 minutes.

Have you ever run next to a friend on the treadmill?

  1. Great job on the treadmill!!! I miss coffee. Somehow I’ve lost my touch and don’t make as good of coffee as I used to. Maybe it’s because I’m too rushed in the morning. I don’t know. But, I nice hot cup of coffee sounds DELICIOUS right now. I’m gonna have to start saving my pennies for Starbucks or something. Haha! Because I have to take my boyfriend’s kids to school, I leave the house at 8:15 a.m. and take the kid to school, then stop off at the store & am in to work by 8:50 a.m.

  2. I was running next to someone at the gym and having just seen that ecard, my husband came over and said “yes, you are racing” thinking the girl couldn’t hear with headphones in. She then covered her dashboard so I couldn’t see her speed/etc. That was an awkward run!

  3. That eCard is hysterical because you know it’s true — When I used to go to the YMCA, I felt like the person next to me was always checking out my stats. I had to finally cover it with a towel. LOL

Work commute is usually 12-15 minutes going to work and 15-20 minutes leaving work. Thank goodness. I have friends that commute over an house. I can’t even imagine.
