So yeah, this past weekend was absolutely gorgeous. But then we woke up to ice and temps in the teens this morning.
That is so true. See what I told you about Texas crazy weather.
There were patches of ice on the ground and they also canceled my spin class this a.m. Which I secretly loved because I got to get my run on before work this morning. Monday runday 10K.
Let’s back it on up to this past weekend. Friday night I went to dinner and bowling with a friend. It has been AGES since I’ve gone bowling! But super fun. I was a little bit rusty.
Saturday morning was the Dash for the Beads 5K! Me and mama rocked it out.
I actually thought I wanted to race this one until I saw this on the website. Boy was it challenging for sure. That was probably the hilliest 5K I’ve ever run!
Not too shabby though on the finish time, especially after running 26.2 just last weekend. I beat about 205 20 year olds and came in 5th place in my division so uhh…I guess that’s pretty cool.
When I was done running I went back around and finished with my mom who walked it. I love having her out at races with me! She seems to really enjoy it.
Even though the course was crazy hilly I would definitely run it again. Folks were all decked out and you could even bring your doggies and dress them up. This little pup was super cute.
Post race they had live music, food, drinks…and even shots of whiskey! Haha I passed on that part but I thought that was fun.
Oh and I decided on the green and purple mix of socks. Thanks to those of you that helped me decide what to wear!
How was your weekend? Have you ever done a fun holiday or themed race?
