Weds Spin Playlist.

Last night I subbed a spin class…it was a lot of fun and mostly involved the class laughing at me while I danced around the room. Ahh, I love being an instructor.

Then I went home and thankfully I live about 5 minutes away from this particular gym (I don’t normally teach at this one). I pulled into the parking garage and these green babies fell out. Yes, those would be the members’ bike passes that I accidentally took home. Oops.

So I had to turn right back around and bring them back. Yes, I thought about keeping them for a split second. I mean, they could just print out new ones, right? Right. Anyway.

This morning I was back at my apartment gym for a run. This is a recovery week (after a stellar high mileage week last week, pat on the back) so I’m focusing more on quality over quantity. I did a few speed intervals, and then hopped off for some squats, planks and upper body work.

Let’s get to this week’s spin playlist! I’m pulling one out of the vault but throwing in some new drills to keep us going.

Talk Dirty- Jason Derulo feat 2Chainz: Warm up
Moves Like Jagger- Maroon 5: Jumps
Tom Ford- Jay-Z: Climb 6/7/8/9
DJ Magic Baron Mashup (J.Lo/Pitbull/Rihanna etc): Sprints
She Came to Give it To You- Usher feat Nicki Minaj: Active recovery
Crazy in Love- Beyonce feat Jay-Z: Rolling hills
Let the Groove Get In- Justin Timberlake: Tempo run
Still in This- B.o.B feat T.I. & Juicy J: Climb 7/8/9/10
Turn Up the Music- Chris Brown: Accelerations
Hunter- Pharrell: Jumps on a hill
Don’t Stop the Party- Black Eyed Peas: Climb 8/9/10/11
Find Your Love- Drake: Standing run
Good Time- INNA feat Pitbull: Sprints
Soldier of Love- Sade: Cool down

Any other goofball spin instructors out there? Tell me some funny stories!

  1. Every time I read your Wednesday post, I am itching to get back to spin. But, I am going to wait until it’s cold and snowy since I’m still loving being able to bike outside right now 🙂
    Happy Wednesday! !

  2. Reading this makes me miss spin! One of my best friends was an instructor when we lived overseas. That looks like a fantastic playlist. Some of my favorite spinning songs from the past have been Call on Me – Eric Prydz (this must have been a remix to bring the tempo up), Fat Bottomed Girls – Queen, and Beat It – Michael Jackson.

  3. I think that’s one of the reasons I can’t wait to become an instructor – you aren’t a military drill sergeant you’re a coach, a team leader, someone who inspires everyone and makes them want to come back for more every week. Aka dancing around the room sometimes to stir up a little passion. I love it!
