15 Miles, Good Company and Weekend Recap.

So this morning I taught my spunky spin class and of course it was lots of fun…speedy sprints and jumps all hour long. Plus it’s just the icing on the cake when you get Christmas gifts in the form of Starbucks money. I love being an instructor. And yes, they know me oh so well.

How was your weekend? Hope you were able to get out and do something fun. My weekend for the most part was real low key! It will be a busy next couple of weeks going into Christmas and New Years so I’m glad I was able to run, relax and clear my head.

Friday night I met up with my girl Angela for a drink at our favorite hangout spot, Pie 314. It helps when you know the bartenders and they can whip you up a tasty beverage off of the top of their heads. Good libations and good company. This was a pic from a while back but I love hanging with this gal.

The next day I slept in a bit (which was heaven) and I set out for a LONG run in the park. I made it to 15 miles and then called it a day. I kept a good pace and finished in 2 hours and some change.

All this running lately has me SUPER excited for some ultra marathon running with this race in a few short months. I am even looking at perhaps doing an ultra LONGER than a 50K (which is 31 miles)…sometime next year. Who am I? Nuts…clearly. Stay tuned.

Moving on to Sunday…it it was dreary and rainy out so for me it was a bonafide rest day. I did a little yoga in my living room, went grocery shopping and checked out a new to me coffee shop called Zenzero. Dirty chai tea latte for the win.

How was your weekend?
Did anyone run a holiday race or do you have one coming up?
I have not one but TWO races next weekend! 15K Saturday and 5K Sunday.

  1. My weekend was great. I got to spend some time with my BFF (London!) and I got to really fellowship with the ladies of my church. I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend! Oh and the COWBOYS won!

  2. Gotta love loading up on Starbucks cards this time of year 🙂 the gift that keeps on giving!
I’m so excited to hear about your racing adventures and I’m looking forward to your 50k next year! That’s beast!

  3. I love hot Chai but have never heard of a dirty chai tea latte.
Great job on that run – can’t wait to see what all of your future running plans include.

  4. Oooh you are racing a 15K, that is such a great distance. One of my favorites and they are so rare around here. So impressed with your spin instructor skills. Spin class is SO fun but I know you have to have a loud and out-going personality to instruct. I wish I had that! Good luck on that Ultra training!!
