15 Miles, NYE and Wknd Recap.

Hello there! I got the day cranked up teaching a power packed spin session this morning. We did lots of hills, jumps, and sprinted to the finish line with this jam. Good stuff.

And of course I had to top it all off with a little Starbucks. Coffee and Michael Kors…Monday essentials for sure.

How was your New Year’s Eve? Hopefully you did something to celebrate and ring in 2015. Of course I had dinner with some lovely people at Bistro 31.

We did the whole countdown thing after and then danced the night away with our horn blowers and such.

The next day (after sleeping in, duh) I had to get out for a fun run. I also ran on NYE morning. My new tradition…ending AND starting the year on a solid note.

The rest of my 4 day weekend was fairly chill…and I liked it that way. I think I needed a little vacation FROM my holiday vacation.

Saturday…15 miles for 2015. Done. Yep, 50K training for the Cowtown Ultra is in full effect. I’ve gotta start getting used to the back to back LONG runs – which are pretty much now every weekend up until the race. Since I’ve been running marathons consistently for a few years now…I can bust out 15-20 miles in training no problem. It’s the 10 miles the very next day that gets me. I’d actually rather just lay on the couch with a glass of wine. Discipline, ya’ll.

Sunday…grocery shopping while I sipped on a recovery beverage. Dark chocolate almond milk for the win.

Oh, and yes…8 mile recovery run. It has been chilly here in Dallas (this morning it’s 25 degrees…I sorta love it) so I shivered my hiney off for a little over an hour and then went home.

I also got to do some yoga this weekend with the amazing Joseph. Awesome sweaty vinyasa flow. Also, I want this Lululemon mat. Just because it’s pink and fabulous.

How was your weekend?

Anyone else training for an ULTRA marathon?
I’m actually training for 2 ultras…we’ll discuss that at a later date. Let’s get over 50K first.
