Hello hello! I got my Monday started right…teaching a power packed early bird spin class. It was fun being back in the saddle and getting back to the grind.
And of course it wouldn’t be Monday with a little bit of iced coffee lovin’.
Let’s backtrack to the weekend! I had a 21 miler on tap. Countdown…3 weeks til my first ultramarathon! 50K I am comin for ya.
After this run I was in need of some serious recovery so I made myself a smoothie with some protein and put on my compression socks.
That night I had a little dinner date so I dressed up and hit the town in a snazzy colorful dress. I try to clean up well.
Sunday I was pretty spent so I slept in and made it back out for another run. 8 easy miles to help loosen things up a bit. Legs were actually feeling good even after the 21 miler and not at all really stiff. I think honestly my body is so used to the mileage…I’ve been running marathons for 6 years but I’m still happy my body is able to adapt and recover so quickly.
I think what also helps is that I have been rocking it in the yoga studio. I went to restorative yoga last night and we did an hour session to the tune of some candlelight. Restorative yoga equals some amazing sleep. You should definitely try it if you have not already.
