26.2 for My Birthday Month and a Strawberry Kale Smoothie.

Morning run done…just enjoying some pretty spring blooms. These have been my favorite that I’ve seen so far.

This last run felt pretty good and my legs are feeling strong lately. I’m really looking forward to this weekend’s marathon. 26.2 in my favorite place to run…to kick off my birthday month. What better way than to celebrate 31 years than with a little running…and maybe a little wine after? Just saying.

Let’s talk smoothies today! If you haven’t noticed I’ve really been loving them because they’re just so easy to whip up and go in the morning! Especially with this blender that I have it’s such a perfect single serve/personal travel size.

I’ve been crushing on kale lately so I’ve got a post run strawberry kale smoothie that will satisfy your tastebuds! I especially love kale in smoothies because it makes the drink such a lovely bright green. Also…someone get me this shirt for my birthday, please and thanks. The actual day is April 26th so mark your calendars.

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 handful of organic kale
1/2 cup of frozen strawberries
1 c. of almond or cashew milk

Blend and serve! Add a strawberry or two on top. Because duh…presentation is everything.

  1. Happy birthday month!! Hope your race is everything you hope and dream this weekend?
I have been a smoothie maniac lately. You name it, and I’ve probably put it in there 🙂
Lately to fuel long runs I’ve been adding a half cup of uncooked oatmeal to a banana/vanilla protein powder/skim milk/crushed ice/peanuts butter smoothie… Omg. The texture is amazing. It’s a calorie bomb but it definitely gives me the energy I need to go the extra miles!

  2. Such a pretty geranium! I can’t wait until things start blooming here in Chicagoland. One of my daffodils has a bud on it, so that’s exciting. I am all about the kale smoothie. I’ve been doing a lot of kale mango and kale cherry smoothies lately. Honestly, it just depends on what fruit I have in the freezer. 🙂 Hope you’re having a great Thursday!

  3. Love that you are celebrating your birthday month!!! I will join you with a bit of wine Saturday evening – I will send a toast your way for sure!!!
