Well hello there! I present to you your Friday coffee drinking selfie. You’re welcome.
Let’s get to my faves this week…plus I’ve got a Katy 5K recap for ya!! I ran this race last night…and man oh man, was it hot. And humid. Sauna running at its finest.
But first…some of the things I’m digging this week.
–21 Andy Dwyer-isms that will help you live your best life. Hilarious. Number 6 is the best.
–Live with intensity. Could not agree more.
–Yogamole…I want to make it right now.
-More pretty flowers popping up all over the place this week. I absolutely love these pink ones.
–Ed Sheeran’s version of Trap Queen. Awesomeness.
-Last night’s sunset after my evening run. It seriously was perfection.
And now for a mini race recap! I ran the Katy Trail 5k last night. Lots of fun with over 3,500 runners!! And a picnic after!! With over 50 vendors, food and wine.
The race itself was a little hectic especially at the start. I was so happy that they kind of lined everyone up according to pace so folks wouldn’t trip over one another in the streets. There are lots of walkers and runners and folks bring their strollers and their doggies. I got up to the start line with the 8 minute pace group.
Going into this race I was nervous about the fact that it was over 90 degrees and crazy humidity. I really don’t run amazingly well in those conditions and especially in the late afternoon/evening! I definitely like to get up early to beat the heat. So for me, this was more of a fun run. Plus I just wanted to get a little shakeout run in before the Wounded Warrior Half Marathon this weekend!
We set out into the park and it was mostly flat with the exception of one or two inclines. Those didn’t bother me much as my neighborhood is quite hilly so I’ve been feeling good about running on hills. They are speedwork in disguise!
Considering the weather I was very pleased with my time and staying around the 25 minute mark. Not to mention I taught spin earlier that day before work so this was workout number 2 for me!
On to the next one! See you on the other side of 13.1!
What are you up to this weekend!?
Racing, relaxing and pool time!
I think I’m going to attempt my first post-preg spin class…with my new spin shoes!!!! Have a great weekend! (and I think I need to add some white wine to the mix 😉 )
Yay!! Have a spin-tastic time!!!
YAY for Friday!!! No big plans this weekend. Just plan on starting my packing for my trip next week!
Enjoy your taper! XO!
I have been, thanks!
You’re welcome lovebug!
How fun to have a picnic after the race. The wine would have me running for the finish line!
Oh for sure! Vino hit the spot!!
Good luck with the Wounded Warrior Half Marathon this weekend!
Thanks sweetness!!
