Hello morning miles. I got a quick shake out run in to start the day! This view definitely motivates me to move.
Today I thought I’d share with you fun little running habits survey from Marathons & Macarons! Here it goes.
Would you rather run along a beach path or on a mountain trail?
Definitely beach. Anything near the water is my jam.
If you could choose the flavor of Gatorade at your next race’s aid stations, what would it be?
Cucumber lime. It is simply the best.
If I gave you a $100 gift card to a running store, what would be the first thing that you would purchase with it?
Shoes…give me all the bright pink Newtons and no one gets hurt.
Do you prefer to follow a training plan or wake up and decide then how far and how fast you want to run?
Even though I’ve run 14 full marathons in a short span of time…I still very much prefer to follow a plan because it helps me stay on track…I like structure. But when I’m not training for anything it’s nice to just go for some data free miles.
Would you rather start your run with the uphill and end on the downhill or start your run with the downhill and end with the uphill?
Uphill of course! Actually I really have grown to like hills. They are mounds of opportunity.
When you can’t run, what type of cross-training do you choose to do?
Spinning, yoga, dancing. Lifting weights. Love to cross train…it helps keep my love for running going strong and in my opinion helps prevent burnout as well as injury.
What is your preference—> Out and back, point to point or loop runs?
I am a loop kind of gal. I’ve even run looped courses during marathons (like this one I did in May) so I don’t mind a little redundancy at times. Mentally I think it helps me get through it because I know what to expect.
If you could recommend ANY running related item to a new runner, it would be a—>
Garmin and a cozy fresh pair of running kicks.
Do you ever see any wild animals while out on your runs?
Yes…I’ve seen a coyote (from a far), turtles also some deer! Lots of fun creatures in the great outdoors.
Ever gotten lost while out on a run?
On the trail, yes! Thankfully I was with a few of my running buds so it was kinda fun to get lost and we found our way back.
If you could have one meal waiting and ready for you each time you got home from a run for the next 30 days… what would that meal be?
A green goddess smoothie and some eggs…wait, make that eggs benedict.
Capris or shorts… what do you run in most often?
Both…mostly a shorts gal in summer.
At what mile (or how many minutes) into your run does your body start to feel like it is warming up and ready to go?
What do you do with your key when you run?
Put it in a pocket that has a zipper!
If you could relive any race that you have done in the past, which one would it be?
The Chicago Marathon! It was my first though, so I’m a little bias. But I loved the diversity of the city and running through different neighborhoods!
What type of run is your least favorite type of run?
A short run. Haha spoken like a true distance runner. But…I guess it’s better than NO run at all!
What has been your biggest motivation lately to get out the door to get your run on?
The sunrise! Always the sunrise. And the way I feel after.
When you go for a run, do you leave right from your front door or do you drive somewhere to start?
Usually for the sake of time during the work week I run in the neighborhood but on the weekends I venture out.
When running in daylight—> are sunglasses a must or an annoyance?
I usually don’t run with sunglasses…but I would not be against it.
When you get tired, what keeps you from quitting?
My stubborn-ness. Haha..and knowing that I can go home, shower, and feel amazing afterwards!
