8 Miles and Thoughts on the Run…Winter Edition.

8 miles this morning in the seriously chilly cold. I had my super warm gloves on and my hands were still frozen. Got it done though.

It’s kind of hard to believe that it will be 60 something degrees tomorrow…yes you heard that right. And close to 70 before the end of the week, then I think it might get cold again. So nuts. I tell ya, sometimes I have no idea what to wear from day to day.

Some of my thoughts on this morning’s run…

-Ahh…my roads are nice and quiet. I love me some peaceful morning runs.

-Whoa! What was that?!? A rabbit! Scared the crap outta me. Just came out of nowhere.

-I need to go shopping for boots…and get some more winter clothes…I’m so not ready for super cold weather.

-Mile 3…just coasting along. I feel like I’ve been running forever already. Good pace though.

-Did I turn that light off?

-Mmm…something really hot sounds good right now. It’s a GRANDE coffee kind of day.

-I just freaking love Starbucks. Really, who doesn’t? Hashtag, so basic.

-Good morning, person taking their dog for a walk. They must think I’m nuts for running out in this cold.

-7 miles done…I could end it here. Nah, one more loop then you’re done.

-Good gracious another bunny. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen about 10 bunnies on this run already.

-Oh yeah, this is my jam…turn the volume up and rock it out.

-8 miles done…let’s make it 8.05 just because I can.

-And now it’s time to go up the stairs…someone to carry me would be nice. Just saying.

What’s the weather been like in your neck of the woods? What are some thoughts you had on your run this morning?

  1. its been either non-stop storms or freezing cold in the NorthWest…past 2-3 weeks it has froze every night so trails and paths are treacherous – had to give up on night runs because you just cant see the ice. Finishing taper week on the treadmill before heading to Maui!

    • Yeah, I don’t know how you folks up north do it! Makes me very thankful to live in TX even though weather down here is a bit bipolar at times. But winters are definitely milder. Have fun and good luck in Maui!!!

  2. I love your thoughts on your run. This is motivating! I need to get out there! The weather in Houston is def the same as Dallas you guys just get all the weather a day earlier!
