It was a 7 mile morning today, enjoying a little bit of sunrise. I added in a few speedy strides for good measure. It was pretty chilly at 6 am but happy to report we will be up in the 60s today.
Without a doubt Thursday is my favorite day to run…well make that one of my favorites. Saturday also tops the list because that tends to be my long run day. Oh yeah and Thursday is not Thursday anymore, it’s Friday Eve. From here on out.
After the run I did a quick strength circuit you can do anywhere, anytime. Grab some medium to heavy weights and you’re good to go.
Today I’ve also got an awesomely delicious smoothie for your morning power boost. Dandelion greens smoothie. I kind of discovered this concoction by accident.
I was at the store actually looking for kale at Sprouts and they were out of it. Then I spotted these babies out of the corner of my eye. Not gonna lie…the name dandelion actually sounded good to me…like it would taste good in a smoothie. So…I said, what the heck and threw it in my basket.
Dandelion greens actually have a ton of health benefits too! I think I will have to throw it in my weekly rotation.
Here’s what you need…
-2-3 cups of organic dandelion greens (you should be able to find this at a natural foods store)
-1 cup of frozen cherries
-1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (optional)
-1 cup of unsweetened coconut almond milk
Blend and serve! Perfect for post workout or busy mornings if you’re a busy bee like myself.
