14 Miles, Nature Lovin’ and Wknd Recap.

Hey there! Hope you had a wonderful weekend filled with fun. Mine was quite marvelous. Nature lovin’, fun times with good buds and galavanting around on the trails. Let’s do a little bit of recappin’!

Saturday was a good morning for a long run. I had a 14 miler on tap…getting ready to ramp things up a bit for my fall marathon training. Very much looking forward to this 26.2 in October! I have a feeling it’s going to be a fun summer of training in the super hot heat. I was up early to catch some cool breeze before that sun took over.


Post long run…nap and some sushi lunch later. That definitely hit the spot.


The evening was pretty chill…I had Saturday night church then a fun night with my girl Tricia. She is my special yoga loving friend who is getting ready to train for her very first half marathon! Love her.


The next morning…trail run Sunday out at Cedar Ridge. My running club is quickly making this a tradition. We run a few trail loops, eat some watermelon and have some laughs. Hands down best way to celebrate Sunday funday runday.



Seriously though…gotta love these awesome views.

I ended the night with a little yoga and lots of much needed rest. Namaste.

  1. Absolutely gorgeous views! What is your opinion on post run snack/drink? I’ve been using Accelerade this past week and curious what you’ve been using. Thanks!

    1. Everybody is different in what works for them as far as post run refueling. I’d say something with a good carb to protein ratio is ideal. I love fruit smoothies with some protein thrown in, or eggs and toast as meals after a long run. Accelerade is a great electrolyte beverage I’ve had before during a run. Electrolytes become very important for runs over about 10 miles or so especially in summer. So you’re doing the right things it sounds like. Thanks for the question!

  2. Great post as always, sounds like another fun weekend! MCM is definitely on the “to do” list for me someday. Frozen berry vanilla protein recovery shakes always taste that much better after a hot run…and iced-coffee or any iced treat from our favorite coffee retailer, of course 🙂

  3. Your Sunday trail runs have me envious! I miss the trails but ours have very little shade and these days, I may just melt! Summer makes me want watermelon and hot dogs. I know they are horrible but they smell so good on the grill!
