Hey there! The weekend recap today will be pretty quick! Busy busy bee over here. I got the ball rolling this morning with an early run around the lake. We had some pretty excellent cloud cover I have to say! Very much needed after all of the crazy hot runs I’ve been doing as of late.
So let’s recap! This weekend was actually pretty chill. I ate some delicious sushi, hung out with friends and fam, and got some long running in! Starting with Saturday morning. 14 miles in the ‘hood. It sure does help to start these long runs around 5 AM or so. Since basically we hit 90 degrees every day before lunch time.
Post run yumminess. I was craving an acai bowl since it has been forever since I’ve been to this place. It was fruity perfection.
Saturday night…salsa dancing at Gloria’s with some runner friends. As you can see it was a wild fun time.
Sunday I slept in a bit then did a 10k recovery run…nice and easy since it was already pretty hot out. But I think I’m slowly starting to acclimate to the summer heat.
And I ended the night with sushi, vino and movie night. Loving this place…it’s like a Chipotle for sushi. You pick out your selections and your sauces…love their Louisiana rolls with some wasabi sauce. Heaven.
How was your weekend? Are you training for anything this summer/fall?
Currently I have two 26.2’s planned before the end of the year! Marine Corps Marathon in October then the BMW Dallas Marathon in December. Plus some other small races. I plan on getting back to ultras early next year.
Sounds like a great weekend, and yum to all the sushi!!! I’m not training for anything at the moment with my husband being deployed, but may look for a 10k
Ah I gotcha! Summer 10k sounds great right now!!
This post makes me want to crave sushi! What a fun salsa night.
It was great! Had not been to that place in forever!!
I hate when that alarm goes off in the morning, but it does make a huge difference to have that run done before it is blazing hot!
My weekend was pretty low-key. Ran Too Hot on Sunday and it was awesome as always! I’d been having a tight calf/shin all week and it didn’t seem to slow me down on Sunday but MAN if it didn’t hurt afterwards! I’m going to rest up this week and see my chiropractor for some ART, hopefully he can get me moving normally again!
This fall I’m planning on Tour des Fleurs 20k in September, DRC Half Marathon in early November, possibly Rockledge Rumble 30k in November (depends on if I can get some quality trail miles in!) and the Dallas Marathon on December 11. Maybe some shorter races thrown in there as well.
Well we all can’t be morning people but I feel your pain Mrs. Rebecca! I hope you feel better soon ma’am!
Sounds like a wonderfully successful weekend! Great job on all those miles! I´m aiming to get a lot of miles in next weekend. You are definitely an inspiration.
I haven´t gotten used to the heat yet, we´ve only had hot weather for a few days…
Oh Acai Bowls! Love them so so much!!
Thanks so much! I am just reading up on your race fabulousness!! So exciting! Congratulations to you!!
Thank you so much!! Yes it was pretty exciting!
Thanks girl:-)
Thanks to the rain Saturday, Sunday’s run was nice and breezy!!!! YAAHHS 🙂
My Sunday run was actually pretty steamy but yeah the little bit of breeze definitely helped!
Wish we could hire someone to run front of us with a fan!!👏🏻
It’s been too long since I had sushi – I need to do something about that :)ot currently training for any races, but planning on running a 14er with a friend next week and have a couple potential races in mind for the fall 🙂
Sounds great! You’re a rockstar just coming off a trail marathon too!! Keep rocking those miles girl!
love me some raw fish! had a poke bowl/salad on Fri night with the boy for the first time – SO GOOD! i have a 26.2 in October that i just started following a plan for!
Sounds great! Happy training!
Love your recap and your sushi bowl is giving me lunch ideas 🙂
I haven’t been running consistently and that’s probably because i’m not training for anything. Have a race goal is a definite motivator.
Great to find your blog. Following you now.
Sweet!! Thanks for visiting lady!
We did have a good salsa night! Thanks for posting the movie! Let’s go for salsa again soon! 😊
