Oh goodness it has been a whirlwind of a Tuesday already. I think I need a vacation from my vacation! Hope you had a marvelous, happy & long Labor Day weekend.
I was back on the roads for a 20 mile training run! It was nothing short of awesome. After this not so awesome 20 miler a couple of weeks ago I was really ready for a good run. We ventured on out to White Rock Lake in Dallas. Hello stunning sunrise. I really love you.
I held a solid pace for most of this run. 9 something pace with temps rising close to 80 degrees and humidity? I’ll take it. We did have a nice little breeze that was going so that certainly helped.
Post run vino later that evening…my fave Troublemaker red wine from Paso Robles California. Heaven.
I met up with some friends later that evening for more Labor Day weekend fun! Good times hopping around Dallas.
Sunday was kind of a late start but I managed to get in a bit of a recovery run…7.2 miles in the ‘hood. I have to say I was basically half sleep for most of it though, but I got it in.
Later on that day, maxin and relaxin at my girl Tricia’s house. I am in love with her pool.
Monday miles. 11.1 total with the IRC crew. We climbed a few hills and my legs were seriously feeling it! Great workout though. I’m starting to really love hills. They are speedwork in disguise you know.
62 miles total last week. Great week of running and my body is really adapting to my training lately. Praise Jesus and hallelujah for that.
How was your weekend? Does anyone have any fall races/marathons coming up? How is your training going?
You are crushing it with the mileage!! Looks like an awesome weekend all around too 🙂
It definitely was! Good times with friends for sure!!
Glad you enjoyed your long weekend and that you experienced a little breeze on your run. That pool looks very inviting. I was outdoors a lot. Hiking, lake view yoga and a BBQ.
Definitely sounds amazing! Especially lake view yoga! I got my yoga on too, on Labor Day after my run!!
Sounds like a great week!! I’ve got a 50 miler coming up on a week and a half so I’m winding down the miles, but getting really excited!
Oh my goodness, is this your first 50 miler? I’ll have to catch up on your blog. Sounds like you will do great, I absolutely love ultras! Click my ultra run love link up top for some inspiration 😉 Best of luck!
I know that label! Now if I only I drank wine. 🙂 I realize that must sound like crazy talk considering Paso is my stomping grounds. 🙂 That is some crazy, awesome mileage- congrats!!
Yeah I wish I lived near Paso Robles, they have a race up there too that is on my bucket list!
Which one?

I’m running the half this year!
Saturday was great running weather! Nice cool breeze.
We just started the speed/hills portion of our fall marathon training, I forget how hard it is! I am running the Dallas Marathon in December and also training for the Rockledge Rumble 30k.
Speed work and hills are important. I have been doing both. Glad to hear you are getting ready to run another marathon! I’m already missing ultras after running 60 mile weeks. haha See you there!!
you make running 20 miles sound so easy!! that wine name is awesome, im not gonna lie sometimes i just buy wine based on names 🙂
haha oh me too all the time! Well, that and by how pretty the bottle is 🙂 🙂 No shame!
