Hi, hey and hello! Did you have a good Christmas holiday? Mine I have to say was equal parts peaceful and productive. Let’s recap it a bit!
I kicked off the Christmas weekend with a run with my homegirl Tracy. Since I have a couple of ultras on the horizon I am working on keeping my mileage up and staying healthy. So I’m doing some runs on the road and a little bit more trail running. Anyway, 12.2 miles done. The miles literally fly by when there is juicy girl talk involved. How cute are our coffee cup warmers? I think I want one for every holiday.
Friday night I enjoyed some fun times with friends but I had a curfew since I had to get up early on Saturday. This is basically how my hair looked all weekend since I have been doing so much running. Hashtag I need to see a hair stylist pronto.
Saturday I got up early with another buddy for a Christmas eve run with the Dallas Dirt Runners. Me and this buddy had already planned on a 20 miler but we weren’t sure if we’d get it in since it had been raining the last couple of days. Thankfully it was not enough to close the trail so we got in a muddy 20 with the crew. One thing I love about running on trails is how good I feel and how quickly I recover afterwards. Loved this view.
I spent Christmas with the fam and mama got me a brand new Garmin 620. I actually love this color combo. I’ve taken it out for a spin the last few days and it has been fun so far playing with my new toy.
And finally, last week in review. Huge mileage week for me! My biggest ever actually…the most I’ve done prior to this has been 75 or so I believe. Thank you, Smashrun and strong legs.
How was your weekend? Do you have a Garmin? Which one?
Looks like such a good time! I used to have the garmin forerunner 220, but I lost it a few months ago. Wahhhhhh! How do you like that one? I am looking for a good one that does cross training too (like Insanity and such). Those runs sounded like they went super well too with good girl chat. Hope you are having such a wonderful week!
I hear the Polar watches are great for cross training. I mostly have utilized the Garmins for running and racing. I love the 620 so far! I’m getting ready to teach class at a new gym where the bikes have data that record mileage/calories burned and etc. So excited for that finally!
Awesome!!! Thank you for the info!!! have fun with that new class- that sounds great!!!
80.9 miles??? That’s about as much as I’ve run this month. LOL You’re intense lady. I love your Garmin too. Jelly. 🙂
Thanks, it has taken me years to reach that kind of mileage! Years and lots of patience with my body. Keep at it, girl! You’re rocking the streak. 🙂
Those cawfee cuffs are adorable!!
I have the Garmin 220, but may need to upgrade for the orange combo…orange is my favorite!!
Jodi
I really honestly did not think I’d like the orange but the combo with the white is really flattering! (I sound like I’m talking about an outfit. LOL)
Sounds like a great week, solid total mileage. I love getting the extra time to run with friends during the holidays. I look forward to reading more of your blog. Happy New years
Thank you!! I look fwd to reading more of yours as well! 🙂 🙂 Happy New Year!
Well done with your mileage 🙂 🙂 Great post x x
Thank ya!
Your welcome 🙂 🙂 x x
Amazing mileage!! Love the new watch! I have Garmin 220, I like it but I’ve had my eye on the 235. Maybe someday. 🙂
Thanks Fallon!
I remember reading about smashrun last week, but was too flustered to look it up, I just signed up how fun! I looked back at the marathon I ran last year, I could have eaten a 22 pound watermelon!!
HAHA I love it. It’s the most random foods on there!
Sounds like a very productive Christmas. I love your hair! Looks so stylish.
I think you should use those coffee cup warmers all winter.
I wanted to take a nice, long hike on Boxing Day, but I got so sick with the stomach flu. I was in bed for two days.
Oh no! I hope you are feeling better girlfriend!!
Sounds like a great holiday weekend…just need to get you some Starbucks cups on your recaps 🙂 I love my Garmin 235, I’ve also got a Vivoactive that I use for daily wear and an older 910xt which I havent used in over a year. No new GPS gadgets for me this Christmas…think I’m good for now, though a new bike computer would be nice!
Awesome! Hope your holiday was fabulous as well!
Great weekend and now happy owner of his 3rd garmin. The first was the 305, then the 910, now the 235. Love it.
Awesome, Russ!
