Hi there! So I don’t know about you but I am absolutely inspired by people who post their mileage from week to week. I’ve always felt a little shy about posting mine though to be honest. And I’m not sure why! But I thought we’d try this out for a bit and see how it goes. I’m adopting the ‘Mileage Monday’ catchy title from this awesome lady! Let’s do a little recap of the running workouts last week. 78.1 miles to be exact (a cutback from last week’s 85 as I prepare for upcoming races.)
As most of you know I’m a big fan of doing double run days and this has really helped my running improve as well as keep my miles fairly high for this ultra training season.
Monday- 8.15 lunchtime miles. Great way to break up the monotonous work day. The sun was out and it was a gorgeous day too. I am more than ready for patio weather and springtime. Very much over this winter stuff.
Tuesday AM- 7.05 miles in the AM with the Irving Running Club crew. I have taken over as the host officially for the morning runs during the work week which is fun. We will see how long this lasts. It is VERY HARD to get people to commit to running in the mornings in the winter. Even in Texas. People just love to sleep in. I don’t blame them but I still love me some morning runs.
Tuesday PM- 4.15 tempo miles, technically this was PM since it was after noon time. Usually I do my speedy warm up type runs before I go teach spin class at the gym. I just had a little window of time in the day so I thought I’d take advantage of it.
Wednesday AM- 8.25 active recovery miles with Roberto from IRC in the morning. We were the only 2 to show up for the morning club run. Which was fine, we still had a good time. He’s contemplating running a 50 miler so I shared my experience while we knocked out a couple of hills in Valley Ranch.
Wednesday PM- 4.05 miles after work and before spin class. I actually went to Wine Wednesday at CycleBar and class wasn’t until 7:15 pm so I was killing time on that side of town. And oh sweet baby Jesus was that wine after class worth it.
Thursday- 10.12 miles of hills with IRC. More people showed up on this day which was nice. I ran some more hills on very tired legs which I think will be good leading up to some of my races coming up. I was happy to get all of my mileage done in the morning. Running lately as you can imagine has been very time consuming. Thankfully I am single and have no kids so for the most part it fits very nicely into my working girl lifestyle. I don’t know how you mamas do it. Tell me your secrets!
Friday- REST DAY
Saturday- I ran the Knob Hills trail race as a training run. 2 loops 13.1 miles each. Two VERY ROCKY and ROOTY loops I have to say. But it was a good time. More of a hike than a run. The 2nd loop I rocked out and just listened to my music. Super fun and super not running it for time. Just time on my feet and getting more acclimated to the trail and lots of climbing hills and rocks.
The best part about trail runs – the aid stations…pickles are the way to my heart.
Sunday- 10.12 recovery miles with 30 mph wind back out on the roads. I found some little dirt paths along the route that made it kinda feel like trail running. HA. I didn’t do this run till the afternoon though because I was dead tired from Saturday. I literally felt hungover. I guess my legs were kind of hungover. Still managed somehow to run this one at a 9:40 pace despite the wind that almost knocked me over.
And there you have it! My week in running.
How was your week last week? Are you looking forward to anything this week?
Wine Wednesday.
Nice job! I love this concept of the week’s recap. When I start running regularly again I’ll have to try this.
Yeah it’s kind of nerdy but fun to see your progress! So happy for Strava/Garmin/Smashrun to track all of my training!!
you run so many miles you make me feel nervous about posting my miles! lol, but you are an ultra runner after all 🙂
haha oh girl please! You are rocking those Disney miles my friend!!
You are killing it in the mileage department lady!!
Thanks sweets!
I like how the app you use says the food equivalents of your burned calories…I feel like that’d be pretty rewarding!
LOL I love the burned calories feature!! It cracks me up!! 9 slices of key lime pie, could you imagine? haha
I’m pretty sure I’d die from sugar overload haha.
Exactly! I’m going to send a letter to Smashrun corporate and ask them to convert the calories to red wine instead. teehee
Looks like you need to get started on your 55 chocolate chip cookies. 🙂
Good gracious! That is intense!!! LOL I do love me some chocolate though!
Impressive!
🙂 🙂
Nice job, that’s a solid mileage base your building. I’m still working on building my base up. I’m slowly working on it as my body adjusts to higher mileage.
Awesome! You’re doing wonderful. Happy training!
That is some awesome mileage, nothing at all to be shy about. Nice running!
Thanks so much lady!!
I’m always so impressed with your mileage! You are going to do awesome on your big spring races!
Ugh, the flu hit me on Tuesday last week and I am just now starting to feel human again. My mileage last week was non-existant.
Sorry to hear sweetie! Get better soon!
