So it is fall time. The leaves are changing, the air is feeling a tad cooler, and pumpkin spice everything abounds. It is not as sweltering hot and definitely makes it much more pleasant to step out for more miles. So what are some great ways you can get more social with your running this fall? Well I am here to share just that…
-Get outside of your RUNNING GROUP comfort zone. Do you always run with the same group day in and day out? Try to stretch your social skills and find OTHER running groups in the area! Hey it can be fun to “cheat” on your usual run group every now and again. Not only does it keep things exciting with your routes, but you without a doubt meet new people and have tons of running buddies to bounce around and run with. It is a win win.
-Find a HALLOWEEN race, or trick or treat fall social run. You could even make up one of your own! There are a couple of social runs in my area that do this every year. We dress up and run around the bars and such throwing out candy. It is always a great time!! I mean really, when it is not when you get to dress up in costume.
-Do something with your run buds that is NOT running related. GASP! Who would think of such a thing? Well I tell you what runners are probably the most fun people to hang out with in the universe. We certainly know how to have a good time. And a fall themed event (like a haunted house or theme park) and go check it out post run with your friends. It surely will be a great bonding experience.
-Grab brunch or a festive fall coffee post weekend long run. I actually used to plan a Fall Harvest party every year and invite all of my buds over. It is a great way to thank your running friends just for being there for you in general.
