Happiest of Fridays to you! Check out this stunning RUNrise. Very blessed with this beauty of a view. It is so nice to just be running for fun right now and without a super crazy race calendar per usual.

Especially when I currently teach so many classes at the gym along with my career. Loving this chapter of life that I am in.

Giving no f*cks and embracing the heck out of it. Plus it is oh so nice to get paid to workout. Thank you baby Jesus for enabling me to do what I love in a side hustle manner! I definitely do not take my gifts for granted.

Let’s get to this week’s faves!!

Practice: Grounding when life is chaotic. Even though I am doing all the things I love currently, life CAN and does get hectic. So I find the grounding practice to be super important. Thankful for deep breaths and gratitude at all times of the day.

Still loving this Life Time water bottle. Yes I have been sporting it at my desk while I get all of our promos in order. TV producer by day, instructor by night.

Random Thoughts Thursday.

My morning started with a power packed 13 mile ride and a run around the ‘hood. My early morning peeps always work so hard! I love the 5:30 AM energy and hearing the whizzing of the bikes as we jam out with party lights. Teaching a spin class + getting my run in + eucalyptus steam room equals a happy Chelsea.

The sunsets on my evening runs have actually been the real winner though. Like that pic above. Watch more sunsets than Netflix…always my motto.

Yes, Life Time is so awesome we even have OUR OWN WATER NOW. And it is delicious and in this pretty BPA free bottle.

I am back on my vanilla chai kick. Drinking this as we speak while I have some clove essential oil in my diffuser.

Chillhop essentials Fall 2021 just came out. Perfect music to work and write to. When I am at my career girl job. But maybe even do some yoga too. It is a whole vibe.

I’ve been enjoying just running for fun still and not really posting as much on the social media front. I do have to promote my class a lot still on our Life Time group pages but taking a back seat to being hyperactive on certain platforms is actually quite nice and refreshing.

Grapefest is this weekend! So you know where I will be. And then the State Fair of Texas begins next week!! Two festivals that I did not get to experience last year. I am so very glad fall festivals are freaking back. Oh happy day.

Summer Fridays.

It is a fabulous summer Friday around here!! Here’s what is going on with me this week and weekend.

EATING
All of the easy summer salads. Obsessed with chickpeas and red onions and baby tomatoes lately too. Eating all of the colors of the rainbow.

DRINKING
Kung fu tea…actually I had a boba tea here and hadn’t had boba in QUITE a while. It was yummy after burning ALL OF THE calories teaching back to back classes at gym + running.

MAKING
A lot of promos here at work…and putting together shows for TV. Gotta love the producer life. It definitely helps having a blog to practice my creative side / writing all the time and sharpening my skills.

CRAVING
Some sun and a FROZEN MARGARITA. I talked about this yesterday but did not get to have that very thing after spin class. So that will without a doubt be happening this weekend.

LISTENING
To anything and everything on my Spotify. My music selections have been a little A.D.D. lately but lately I’ve been loving high energy music. This heatwave playlist has been my absolute jam.

READING
The book of HAPPY. Whenever I just need a random pick me up.

LOVING

Summer Fridays.

Summer Fridays are back!! Here’s what I’m into this week…

EATING

Splitting the most amazing fajitas with my mama after teaching my spin class last night. I haven’t heard that *fajita sizzle* in oh so very long. Just hearing that alone last night made me happy. I think it is funny the way my mama eats fajitas also. She gets excited about the beans and rice part first and just goes in for the kill. Then forgets about that fact THAT WE ARE SPLITTING THE MEAL. Never mind mama, you can have all the sides that you so desire. Next time I’ll have them split it for us prior to.

DRINKING

All of the iced teas, unsweetened please. Just put some fresh peaches in that bad boy.

MAKING

Spotify playlists all the dang time. Back to teaching class at gym multiple times a week so gotta keep the game strong. Check out my Spotify if you are needing workout jams.

CRAVING

This new Mermaid Raw Bar. Can’t wait to see what this is all about! Dallas has some really cute spots cropping up lately. Need to do a little weekend exploring.

LISTENING

Outdoor Seaside Café all day. It is my writing music mostly when I am at work. Surprisingly when I am not working out I am like an old lady with my listening choices.

WATCHING

The 1st episode of the new season of the Real Housewives of Potomac! Jury is still out on the NEW girl. But living for all things Karen Huger.

WEARING

ANYTHING NEON. Neon all the time in the summertime. As a far of fact I think I may go get a neon pedicure after work.

SHARING

How to make a delish (and “noo-trish” can we make that word a thing?) smoothie for the post run. I LOVED spinach in my smoothies back in the day. And coconut almond milk. MMHMM good.

Summer Fridays.

Summer Fridays for the win! Here’s what my upcoming 4th weekend is looking like.

EATING

All of the watermelon salads in the universe. This one with feta, mint and lemon zest definitely does the trick.

DRINKING

A nice crisp fro~zay!! Yes, that is how I spell it. Post run of course. I may have to make some or find something pretty close to it this weekend.

GRILLING

I absolutely adore corn on the cob on the grill. That is the only way I eat corn in the summertime.

LISTENING

Anything from the Candy Music Room. Doesn’t a beach house café sound absolutely lovely? Love the sounds of them steaming up a fresh hot latte while listening to the sounds of Bossa Nova.

WEARING

Rompers. All day, every day with this beautiful warmer weather.

Catching Up.

Happy Friday!! What a week it has been down in Texas. I am coming to you from my igloo after surviving ALL of this winter storm craziness.. Happy to report I now have power so all is well in the world. I figure I would take this time to catch you up! Instead of my usual. Check me out next week for the normal regularly scheduled posts.

Since we’ve last talked I actually spent some time in the sunshine state! That is right, your girl was on an actual vacation in Florida. I haven’t had a getaway in over a year! I took the time for some ultimate relaxation. Hanging with friends on a boat. Sipping adult beverages and such.

I was scheduled to just do a long weekend but actually ended up getting stuck in Ft. Lauderdale! The storms in Dallas were so bad that my flight did not end up taking off until Tuesday. I arrived Tuesday evening to ice and snow and crazy conditions. My power went out and I lost water as well due to pipes bursting at my complex. Quite stressful.

Work was also canceled most of the week and roads were crazy iced over. I definitely had wished I had stayed longer on my trip! Thankfully I did not have to deal with the worst of it all since I was away in Florida.

Running this week also took a hiatus while I dealt with this mess. But so glad next week will be normal beautiful Texas weather. 50s and 60s. I considered this week a much needed break for the body.

I did go out for a snowy run yesterday which was actually kind of fun and pleasant. Check out this little winter wonderland. I’ll be venturing out for more miles now that we are above freezing and the snow is melting.

For my friends in Texas dealing with this I hope you all are safe! We will be out of this soon.

Summer List.

Hiya there!! Well it is that time again…summer LIST time! And since the this lovely season has arrived I thought I’d share the things I’m loving right now. I am so looking forward to the sunshine, weekends filled with great friends – pool parties and good vibes overall. All about it.

Things I’m currently…

Eating: All of the sushi rolls. Actually my most fave sushi as of late is the spicy yellowtail. I am actually obsessed with this place close to my job so “sushi Mondays” is quickly becoming a thing. Best way to unwind from the workday.

Drinking: Massive jugs of water…unsweetened tea…sauv blanc or a crisp white wine for nights on the patio.

Practicing: Always practicing staying in the present. I’m so used to having to be prepared for my next move (I blame teaching fitness classes at the gym for this) So being present sometimes is not very easy for me. I work at it everyday.

Mastering: Turning my MIND off at night. I’ve just discovered the Headspace app. I also love YouTube videos that have restorative yoga and calming things like that before bed. And for me NO TV and no lights on at bed! I don’t even know how people sleep with the TV on. Ha.

Learning: To be okay with not taking on too much. Right now I’m only teaching two classes at the gym during the work week (after my 9-5) and seriously this schedule for me could not be more perfect. All about that BALANCE, baby.

Trying: To laugh at myself more. Or to just laugh more in general.

Playing: …with my fun running friends!! Seriously y’all I have the most amazing runner friends. They are all THE MOST fun. We went floating on the river this past weekend and had an absolute blast. Then this weekend is RUN MY ‘HOOD and more pool party fun. Love.

Finishing: …my exploration of all of the fun cultural things to do in DFW. I am definitely an art museum lover and so many good ones are popping up around here. Must hit up more this summer for sure.

Reading: The Andy Cohen Diaries. I actually keep meaning to finish this book and never do and now it’s collecting dust in my closet. Must get it out and go to the pool and dive in.

Remembering: To do some form of yoga daily. Actually my favorite yoga pose to do (that I try and do daily) is pigeon pose. So good for those tight runner’s hips.

Wearing: Always rompers…and jumpsuits. Goodness, I love me a sassy sexy jumpsuit when I go out on the town.

Cooking: Anything crisp and light. When I’m actually cooking – grilled or stir fry stuff is my jam.

Working: LOTS. This is the summer of working, truly. Getting my money up for some traveling this fall. My 10 year work anniversary (!) is in August. So, I’ve got 3 weeks of vacation coming my way. Hallelujah and praise Jesus for that.

Traveling: By foot. Doing some training for the Habanero 50k then my 100 miler after that in Louisiana. Trail running, Cajun style.

Wanting: Copious amount of poolside time, and ALL the bikinis.

Random Thoughts Thursday.

Hello…it is the Christmas edition of RANDOM THOUGHTS Thursday! This is the day I share my random rants, raves and confessions with you.

Side note. Every time I think of the word “thoughts” I always want to spell it another way.

If you didn’t get the joke, then you just didn’t get it…ha.

Anyway…let’s get to the randomness this week!

If you missed my Weds Spin Playlist this week you may want to grab it for your holiday workouts. It is festive and there are a lot of high energy Christmas tracks on there. Love it.

SOMEONE PLEASE send help. We are in decadent foods overdrive at work this week. I normally stay far away from the breakroom but a coworker makes these from scratch for us, every year. I had one of each. And now I am DONE.

I guess I can say it is fueling the 10+ miles of running I am doing today.

Yep…today is a double run day and I am running the Jingle Bell Run 5k tonight!! I already ran this morning with my run club so it should just be a fun run. I didn’t do this race last year so now I am kind of looking forward to it.

It does seem like this time of year people are MUCH nicer. I’ve encountered a lot of nice people this week for some reason.

Even though people are nicer, I feel like my road rage is even worse right now because everyone is out shopping right after work and it is so much traffic everywhere. I think I’ve been like 5 minutes late to everything this week.

AND…that is why I like morning workouts. Even though I still workout at night. But you know, because I get paid to do it and stuff. Teaching the spin class and such.

Also…the sauna is my HAPPY PLACE right now. There is nothing more satisfying than sitting in a hot sauna after being outside in the cold. Heaven.
